My experience in this class has been great. This first day I walked into class, I was excited, but nervous. I hadn't ever really worked with the camera or settings of a camera, and I knew there was going to be a lot of photoshop, which I had no idea to use. Despite this, I was very excited and I expected the class to be great. Well, the class lived up to my expectations! I learned so much about settings on the camera, photoshop, and how take quality photos. This year, we did many different photo assignments. My favorite was my very last photo assignment - Architecture. I loved using different compositions of each photo, and it was a really nice day so he photos turned out great. This is my favorite: There were some good photo assignments, and some not-so-good ones. My least favorite was probably when I took "macro" photos. I needed to take pictures for class the next day, so I took pictures of my eye. I had to use manual settings and I was kind of confused by that, and the photos all look pretty similar and a little rushed. This is one of the best ones, but I think it could be better. A big part of this class was photoshop. When I first started, I had no idea how to use it, but I grew more comfortable with the app and it's settings, and I like a lot of the things I've created in photoshop. I'm especially proud of one specific image I made. In class, we needed to look up photoshop tutorials on the internet and photoshop our own image. I found one on a website where it looked like the front image was torn to reveal another image behind it. This is how it turned out. Overall, I've really enjoyed this class. I've learned a lot, and I think I'll be able to use this skills and techniques later in life. Next year, I'm taking Digital Photography 2, and maybe I'll do some more photography in the future. I'm going to miss this class a lot. Thank you for reading my blog posts, and see you soon!

This photo assignment was probably my favorite, because I'm really interested in architecture like this. My family and I were downtown in Grand Rapids for a volleyball tournament, and when we walked out of the building where my sister was playing, I noticed the buildings all looked nice and so I decided to take some photos. One of my favorites is the very 1st one with the brick building because I like how the lighting is, and I think it's really satisfying how the shadow splits perfectly down the middle.
For this assignment, we needed to research 3 different photoshop tutorials to do. I did one where a dancer was jumping out of the scree, one where the image was 'torn' to reveal another person, and one where I changes the blue eye to red. My favorite one was the torn image one, because it was challenging, fun, and I think it turned out good.
For this photo assignment, I took pictures of our memorial day dinner. I worked with aperture to create a depth of field in the photos. I liked this assignment.
For this assignment, we had to take multiple photos of ourselves in the same location, and merge the photos using photoshop. The goal was to make it look like there were multiple of the same person in the photo. I think mine turned out pretty good, and I learned a lot from this assignment.
From this assignment, I learned about composition and setup in photos. I also played with light in each one. I liked this assignment and i learned a lot.
For this assignment, I took pictures of my sister on Easter. For this assignment, I took pictures of my sister. I used Rule of Thirds and depth of field when I was photographing her. I think I learned a lot from this assignment about photographing people. The Photo on the left is the original photo, and the photo on the right is the edit. All I did was crop the photo so you could really see the eye up close. This assignment was really fun. I think eyes are really fascinating, so taking pictures of my sister's eyes was a good experience. I learned a lot about using manual exposure and focus, because in order to get close to her eye, I needed to use the manual settings. At first, the photos weren't focusing or the exposure was too high, but I eventually got the hang of it.
